Not sure what to say?

Having worked with Fred through two home builders, I have always respected him as a compassionate man who always kept his word. I’m grateful we had a good friendship until his last days. May you rest in peace, Fred.

So sorry to learn of Fred's death. He was a valued member of the Colerain Class of 1967 and will be sorely missed. Sympathy to his family and dear friends.

In Loving Memory of Fred Blankenship

Fred was more than a friend to me—he was one of the few people in my life I could always rely on. We first met through business, but it didn’t take long for a genuine friendship to form. Fred had a way of making you feel seen, supported, and valued, and I will always cherish the bond we built over the years.

His kindness, loyalty, and strength made a lasting impact on my life. Fred lived with purpose and dignity, and even through his...

Fred's Obituary

Fred Daniel Blankenship, 76, entered the pearly gates of heaven on December 2, 2025, following a valiant fight with cancer which was diagnosed in mid-Summer 2025.

Many of the medical staff were amazed at his resiliency and the strength of his resolve to get well.

Fred was born on July 7th, 1949, to Daniel B. Blankenship and Jean Blankenship in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Upon graduation in 1967 from Colerain High School, he began working for Len Grace, who was a well-known, and respected home builder in Cincinnati.

Fred took night classes at the University of Cincinnati and soon thereafter began a long, and successful career in new home sales.

Fred rose to Vice President of Sales at Zaring Homes during the height of his time in sales.

For many years, Fred also served as a volunteer fireman in Blue Ash, Ohio where many lasting friendships were made.

The leisure activities that Fred cherished most were boating, water skiing, and even scuba diving.  Many life-long memories were made with friends and family on the Ohio River, Brookville Lake, Lake Williamstown, but, best of all, Lake Cumberland was a favorite boating destination of his.

Fred had a fondness for pets, and over the years had two special Labrador retrievers, and too many kitty cats to mention.

In later years, armed with his knowledge and experience of home building, he became involved in real estate investing and remodeling.

Fred was affectionately known as Freddy, Uncle Fred, or just Unc.

He possessed a winsome smile along with an outgoing personality, was a noticeably sharp dressed man, and conducted himself with confidence and authority.

Although his time here was somewhat short, he leaves behind a lasting legacy, and a special place in our hearts.

A private service has been scheduled to honor Fred's life and accomplishments.

Burial will take place on Tuesday December 9th at 2:15 PM at Arlington Memorial Gardens, Cincinnati, Ohio.
