Gerald "Killer" Gerdes of Wood Lake died on Friday, January 10, 2025 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age 74.

A time of sharing stories with family and friends will be held from 2:30 to 3:30 PM on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Granite Falls, MN.

Gerald "Killer" Gerdes, born on September 21, 1950, in Willmar, MN, to John and Leona (Swedland) Gerdes.

Gerald spent over 30 years in companionship with Tammy Anderson, with whom he shared a home in Wood Lake.  A dedicated truck driver, Gerald hauled sugar beets for many years. In his free time, he had a passion for attending car shows and admiring classic automobiles. In May of 2024, he moved to Luther Haven, where he resided until his passing.

Gerald is survived by his long-time companion, Tammy Anderson of Wood Lake; his step-son, Gerald Gerdes of Maynard; his step-daughter, Melissa (Chris) Schmidt of Marshall; two grandchildren: Alice and Esther; and his brother, Terry Gerdes of Granite Falls.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Leona Gerdes; two brothers, Gary Gerdes and Roberts Gerdes; and his sister, Marilyn Gerdes.

Gerald's memory will be cherished by his family and friends.
