Gerald Elisha LaRue

Gerald (Jerry) E. LaRue, aged 87, passed away February 8, 2026, in Ocala, FL. Born in Montrose, PA he was a former resident of South Montrose and Hallstead, PA. A 1955 graduate of Montrose High School, Jerry subsequently enlisted and served in the US Air Force. Jerry worked with his hands all his life and took great pride in the construction of bridges throughout PA. While residing in Dunnellon, FL, Jerry and Sally were proprietors of LaRue's Ice Cream Parlour. Jerry was a quiet, kind and considerate gentleman, dearly loved by both family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Sally (Davis), his children Gary (Vicky) Hallstead, PA, Lizabeth (Paul Valovcin) Monument, CO, and Philip LaRue of Dunnellon, FL. He was the proud grandfather of 7: Daina, Tommy, Sarah, Michael, John, Zachary and Lucas. Arrangements will be handled by Brown Funeral Home in Lecanto, FL with an early May (Date TBD) graveside service, followed by interment with military honors at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL (https://www.cem.va.gov/cems/nchp/florida.asp).
