Gerald Lee Laughlin

Gerald Lee Laughlin, age 86, formerly of Bay Village, Ohio passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024. He was born July 13, 1937 in Coshocton, Ohio to parents Reese and Opal (nee Taylor) Laughlin.
Jerry grew up with his two sisters in Warsaw, Ohio and was a 1955 graduate of Warsaw High School. He attended the Ohio State University where he was a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity and earned his bachelor's degree in 1959. While at OSU Jerry met Kay Rothaermel, and they married following college and settled into life together in Parma, Ohio. After about ten years, and three children, the pair resettled in Kay's hometown of Bay Village, Ohio to raise their family, and remained in Bay Village.
Jerry worked most of his career at Broadview Savings and Loan, retiring as the Vice President of Methods and Procedures after almost 40 years. He was an avid sports fan, always cheering on his OSU Buckeyes, the Browns, all the Cleveland teams. Jerry loved his football! He enjoyed being near Lake Erie and spent many hours boating and fishing. He was always "tinkering" with various projects, and finding ways to fix broken items. He will be remembered and missed dearly.
Jerry was the beloved husband of the late Kay Laughlin, who passed away in 2020; loving father of Chris Laughlin (Connie), Kathy Laughlin, and Tom Laughlin (Kelly); cherished grandfather of Sara Laughlin-Hanson (Hayden) and Abigail Laughlin; dear brother of Janet Harper and Diane Tulp (Lloyd).
