It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Gerald Matthews (also known by most as “JJ”) on January 28th, 2026, at the age of 73. He was a gentle and caring soul who would not hesitate to lend a helping hand to any friend or stranger even if it meant sacrificing his own safety or well-being. He leaves behind his siblings - Barbara Ann Coleman, Horace Matthews, Jr., Van Matthews, Glenn Matthews, Ronald Matthews, and Jeffrey Matthews; as well as many cousins and friends. He will surely be missed.
In lieu of floral arrangements, the family asks that you would donate to the charity of your choice.
