Gerald Lee McCall, 92, of Oklahoma City, passed away September 21, 2025. Gerald was born on April 22, 1933 in Henderson, Texas to John D. McCall and Johnnye Morris McCall. He lived most of his childhood in the Norman area where he was a 1951 graduate of University High School. Jerry enjoyed playing basketball and made lifelong friends while a student there. During college, he spent time with his father in Venezuela where he played basketball (sometimes in bullfight rings) and was invited to a ball at the presidential palace. In 1955, he received a degree in Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma. He married Mary Gladys Fox in 1957, starting almost fifty years of married life adventures. They lived in many places throughout Texas as he worked as a manager for Montgomery Ward. Humble Oil moved them to Oklahoma landing them in Oklahoma City in 1962 where he called home until his death. He was Business Manager for the Internal Medicine Department at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center when the upper deck opened in OU's football stadium. This led to many seasons of football games in that upper deck for Gerald and Mary. His passion for football and basketball made him a lifelong Sooner fan. He worked at Woods Petroleum until he retired from full time work having worked hard for many years to lovingly support his family. During his years in the oil industry, he realized that support was needed for those in charge of paperwork for the booming oil business, so he founded the Production Records Association. He ran this group to support and train thousands of people to do their jobs more efficiently. He always had a joke to tell and was willing to break a rule or two in order to have an adventure.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Robert, Dorothy and James and his beloved wife, Mary. He is survived by three daughters and their families, Jinda and Randy Skov, of Georgia and their children, Brendon, Jarrett and wife Abbie, and Kirsten and husband Evan; Charlotte and Mark Packard of Colorado, and their children, Grant and wife Audriana, Denae and husband Tyler, and Justin; and Alison and Steve Middleton, of Georgia and their children, Kolby, Blythe and Kinzey. He loved being a great grandpa (Papoo) to Natalia Packard, Leo and Daphne Skov, Autumn and Savannah Lowe, and best buddy, Jeremiah Phipps.
