Gerald Micharl Chauvette
Saginaw, Michigan
Our loving father, grandfather, and grandfather passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. He went home to be home with the Lord and was joyfully reunited with the love of his life, his wife, Judy, daughter, Kimberly, and great-granddaughter, Amiliana Sanchez.
Gerald was born on July 21, 1945, son of the late Gerald and Faye (Swarthout) Chauvette, in Saginaw. He married Judy Beuthin on January 14, 1977. She predeceased him on November 23, 2021. He retired from EATON Manufacturing after many dedicated years of service. Gerald was an avid Lions Fan and enjoyed bowling. Whether it was fishing, camping or with the Jeep Club, he loved being outdoors. Gerald and Judy enjoyed the years they lived in Florida, but they eventually made it back to Michigan to be with their family. He was a great, loving, understanding, supportive and kind father. Gerald was always very laid back, easygoing and friendly. It’s safe to say that he never met a stranger.
Gerald will be sorely missed by his children, Paul (Carrie) Chauvette, Jennifer (Chris) Swanson, Jennifer Chauvette (Raymond Conden) and Rebecca (Luciano) Villegas; grandchildren, Rudy Sanchez, Katie (Joe) Esparza, Jon (Hannah) Chauvette, Ashlie Samson, Alexandria Villegas, Alison (Andrew) Otten, Veronica Villegas, David (Jordan) Chauvette, Nikki Cortez, Brady Swanson, Molly (Brandon) Conden-Popielarz and Cassandra Villegas; his brothers and sisters, Adele (Mike) Samson, Mark (Zena) Chauvette, Renee (Steve) Keyser, Michell (Mark) Barlow and Gregory (Kathryn) Chauvette; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m., on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Friends may visit with the family at the chapel on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Camp Fish Tales, 2177 E. Erickson Road, Pinconning, MI 48650. Geralds life will be remembered for his kindness, his love of family, and the warmth he shared with everyone he met.
