Gerald L. Mincer

June 18, 1934 – February 2, 2026

U.S. Veteran

Gerald L Mincer, 91 was welcomed home by our Lord and Savior on Monday, February 2, 2026 with his loving family at his bedside. Gerald was born in Lamoni, Texas to Lloyd and Frances Mincer.

Growing up, Gerald spent much of his time with his grandparents, Earl and Mary Mincer, working the farm. I believe that instilled his respect for a hard day's work, honesty, helping others and his love for agriculture. Gerald left the farm and joined the service at age 16.

Gerald served in the Navy for four years doing a tour in the South Pacific. During one of the missions the Navy vessel was hit and sunk. Gerald was lucky to have been a good swimmer and found a sandbar where he awaited rescue. Needless to say, he was never a beach goer after that!

After completing his service with the Navy, Gerald returned to Southern California and accepted a job with the Bank of America. Gerald worked for various Bank of America branches for over 25 years until he was recruited by Western Consumers, Inc. He continued with WCI for several years until he obtained his real estate license. He specialized in agricultural real estate with an emphasis on dairies. His last business endeavor was the start-up of Central Valley Silage Covering with his son, Brad Mincer. He continued with CVSC until this last year. He was very proud of what Brad has built with the company for over 40 years!

Gerald would tell anyone about his career and promotions throughout his time with B of A, BUT would always say his best day was when he met a lovely teller named Marsha, who later became his wife. That was always the best part of his B of A stories!

Gerald and Marsha have been married for 67 years! Gerald is survived by his wife, Marsha Mincer; his children, Cheryl Baijnauth of Merced, Brad Mincer of Merced, son-in-law, Dianand Baijnauth and daughter-in-law, Cyndi Mincer; grandchildren Amanda Ramirez, Holly Baijnauth, Nicolas Mincer, Jennifer Mincer, Michael Mincer and Brandi Mincer; great grandchildren, Breya and Domri Ramirez, Jessika, Xavier and Rebel Mincer.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Ronald Mincer and Kay Wheeler. He has a surviving sister, Shirley Knull.

My condolences go out to the Mercer family. I had one I had in one year as an English teacher. I really learned a lot for Mr. Mercer. He had a gentle voice. I really loved his stories that he used to tell in the classroom thank you, Mr. Mercer. I learned a lot from you even though your hand shaped a lot when you were writing all the chalkboard or when you leaned over and you were helping me and you when you were writing on my paper and I would say it´s OK Mr. Mercer I can do it. I really did appreciate everything that you taught me. Thank you Mr. Mercer for being the best teacher that I ever did have I really did enjoy the stories and the time that you spent at our high school thank you, Mr. Mercer God rest your soul amen
