Age 86 passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at his residence in Minooka, IL. Formerly of Joliet, IL and Lockport, IL Gerald worked for the Bell Phone Companies for 35 years and continued doing contract work with them for another ten years.
He is survived by sons Michael Offerman (Lourdes), Joseph Offerman (Lisa); daughter Kathleen Latta (Charles); grandchildren Helen Offerman (Nick Sinon), Kyle Offerman, Stephen Bumstead, Christian Bumstead, Nathan Bumstead (Mariella), Kellianne Latta, Katelyn Latta, and Connor Latta as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gerald/Jerry, Dad, and Grandpa was a devoted husband of 66 years, beloved father, and spoiling and loving grandfather.
He is also survived by his sister Maureen Feeney (preceded by Robert), sisters in law Marilyn Offerman (preceded by brother David), Jeanne Offerman (preceded by brother William), Patricia Offerman (preceded by brother Frank), Carol Offerman (preceded by brother George), and brother in law James Peraud (preceded by Delores).
He was a devoted husband of 66 years to his wife, Loretta, who preceded him in death on November 23, 2024. He is also preceded in death by his parents George Offerman and Margaret Offerman (Hardy), grandmother Mary Hardy, step mother Ethel Offerman, sister Joan Tracy, brother in law Vincent Tracy, sister Jane Offerman, sister in law Janice Kman, brother in law Carl Kman, and numerous dear friends and relatives.
Jerry was active with St. Andrew's in Romeoville, St. Charles Borromeo in Lockport, and St. Mary's in Minooka. He was also active with his homeowners association at his homes in both Lockport and Minooka as well as his local precinct work. His greatest pleasures were spending time with his family and friends and being outside caring for his lawn and flowers.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Thursday, January 30th from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Anderson Memorial Home; 21131 W. Renwick Road, Plainfield, IL 60544. Funeral mass will take place at 10:00 am Friday, January 31st at St. Mary's Catholic Church; located at 303 W. St. Mary's St., Minooka, IL 60447. Internment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville on the same day after the funeral mass. No procession to the cemetery. (815.577.5250) (www.anderson-goodale.com)
