Gerald Pruitt Obituary
Alton - Gerald Frances Pruitt Sr., 87, passed away on February 15, 2026, at La Bella of Alton.
He was born on September 25, 1938, in Alton, Illinois, to John and Sinah M. (Worthy) Pruitt.
Gerald enjoyed fishing and junking. He was formerly referred to as Uncle "Jew."
He is survived by his children, John PruittJones (Steve), Donald "Nuck" Pruitt (Carol), Aaron Pruitt (Amanda), Danny Pruitt (Cindy), and Tammy Vandermulen (Kyle); along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sheila (Kulick) Pruitt; his ex-wife, Joyce Pruitt Jacoby; his estranged wife, Martha Mayfield; his ex-wife, Bea Voumard; his sons, Gerald Frances Pruitt Jr. and Jeffrey Allen Pruitt; and his siblings, Hank, Walter, Leo, Jack, Dorothy Langley, and Anna Bella Garasen.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 23, 2026, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, Illinois.
Inurnment will take place at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice.
