Gerald T. Rezendes Sr.

Gerald T. Rezendes, 90, of North Providence, passed away peacefully Thursday January 15th. He was the beloved husband of the late Marie D. (McKendall) Rezendes, who passed away in May of 2024.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Manuel and Irene (Augusta) Rezendes.

Mr. Rezendes was employed by Teamsters Local Union 251 as a truck driver for over 30 years at Clifford Metals in Providence.

He loved reading, spending time in his home with family every weekend going in the pool, cooking on the grill and just being together. He and his late wife Marie would travel frequently to New Hampshire. The most memorable and special trips were the ones were with his daughter Karen and grandson Peter.

He served honorably in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany for two years.

He is survived by two children, a son Gerald Rezendes, Jr. and his wife Lisa Longo Rezendes, and a daughter Karen Rezendes; a grandson, Peter Fico, Jr.; and a sister, Carol Murphy; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be at the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence, Wednesday, January 21st, from 5:00pm-7:00pm, with a funeral service at 6:30 pm. Burial will be private.
