Gerald Carl Samuelson
February 28th, 1944, to January 21st, 2022
Gerald passed away in Fargo North Dakota on January 21st, 2022, in the presence of his daughters. Gerald ( Jerry) was born to Carl and Lucille Samuelson on February 28th, 1944, in St. Paul Minnesota. Jerry grew up in St. Paul. Graduating from Washington high school in 1962. Jerry was very Proud of his service to the Minnesota National Guard during the Vietnam war. He married Charlotte Asher in 1966.
Jerry worked with Northwestern Bell for over 30 years retiring in 1996. Jerry and Char settled in New Brighton Minnesota in 1987 and called it home for 29 years. Jerry was a member of Salem Covenant Church and heavily involved in the local community. He enjoyed a long retirement traveling the world with his wife and raising two Golden Doodle dogs Sonar and Radar whom he took great joy in. Health issues brought the couple to Fargo North Dakota in 2016 to spend their remaining years near their daughters and grandchildren.
Jerry is preceded in death by his wife Charlotte. Survived by brother Bruce ( Joyce), sister Charlotte Niedermayer, daughters Beth Jansen (Kevin) and Sandra Hovland, grandson Samuel Hovland, granddaughters Sarah and Kelsey Jansen. Nieces' nephews' friends and in-laws. Services will be held on Saturday February 26th at the Cremation Society of Minnesota's Brooklyn Park chapel, 7835 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Park, MN. Family visitation 10am, Memorial Service at 11 am with reception to follow.

Jerry (Sam) was my best friend in High School, walking together for the 1 1/2 mile distance every day! We enjoyed hunting together with his Dad, Carl many times. We remained friends for over 60 years, talking to him every day! Will miss him greatly. A fine man!
