Gerald Kenneth Steidl

Gerald Kenneth Steidl passed away peacefully at home on Oct 1, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 89 years old. Gerald was born in Alexandria, MN on April 6, 1935 to Kenneth and Mary (Kreemer) Steidl. He attended public school In Alexandria, graduating with the class of 1953. During his school years, Gerald enjoyed participating in FFA, wining many state awards for his Black Angus beef cows.

After graduating from Alexandria High School, Gerald worked road construction, and later for Wedums local gas company. Throughout his life, his true passion was for farming. He loved talking for hours about the crops and the weather. 

He will be deeply missed by many. He is survived by his son, Kenneth Steidl; daughters: Debra Steidl, Joyce Weaver (Darrel Bahls), Marsha Butkwoski (Robert Suchy); along with his step-children, many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; sister Diane (Darrel) Botzet; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Christine Steidl; son, Ronald A. Steidl; daughter, Valarie K. Steidl; sister Louise Zimmel; and brother, Marvin Steidl.

Memorial services for Gerald will be held Saturday, October 12, 2024 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church of Belle River in Carlos, MN at 10:30 AM with a visitation starting at 9:00 AM. Burial will be held at the church cemetery following the service.
