Gerald "Jerry" Volker
1945-2025
Gerald "Jerry" Volker, 80, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Hill City, MN, on Sunday, February 2, 2025. Born on January 3, 1945, to Arend and Barbara Volker, Jerry spent his early years in Goodland, MN. On May 1, 1965, he married the love of his life in Hibbing, MN, and together they raised six beautiful daughters. Jerry was a dedicated worker, started his career in construction and ending his work career at Hi-Tech Milling in Remer, MN. Through the years he worked at various other jobs and was well known as a jack of all trades. After retiring, Jerry found joy in buying and selling at flea markets, relishing the chance to engage with people and showcase his bargaining skills. An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing, hunting, and raising animals, always accompanied by his cherished furry companions, Peanut and Missy. Jerry will be remembered for his warm spirit, his love for his family, and his ability to connect with anyone.
He is preceded in death by his parents, great-granddaughter Makenzlee, brothers Darryle and infant brother John Jay, and sister Virginia Duncan.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Sharon, Hill City; daughters: Robin Volker, Hill City, MN, Bobbi (Joel) McNeil, Swatara, MN, Ronda (Matthew) Englund, Princeton, MN, Brenda Volker, Princeton, MN, Sheri Volker, Grand Rapids, MN, and Becky (Merlin) Daiker, Princeton; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers: Loren Volker, Kenneth (Mary Jo) Volker, Jeff (Peggy) Volker, Merlin (Caryn) Volker, and Randy (Teresa) Volker; sister Elizabeth (Bruce) Field; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids.
