Gerald "Jerry" Lee Zoborosky, 85, of La Porte, IN, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Northwest Health-La Porte.
Jerry was born on April 29, 1940, in Hammond, to Leo and Kathryn (Downs) Zoborosky.
On April 3, 1959, in La Porte, IN, he married Shirley Cooper who survives. Also surviving are his 2 children, Theresa "Teri" (Dennis) Dilloway of La Porte and Brian (Kathy) Zoborosky of La Porte; 2 granddaughters, Caitlin (Seth) Stewart of Indianapolis and Brittany (Chris) Sholtis of La Porte; 2 great-granddaughters, Paisley Stewart of Indianapolis and Dana Sholtis of La Porte with another great-grandchild, baby Stewart, to be born in May; special granddaughter, Natalie Owers of England; sister, Patricia Nash of Belden, MI; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth Zoborosky.
Jerry was a machinist for over 40 years at Inland Steel, East Chicago. He enjoyed riding go-karts, snowmobiles, and motorcycles. Jerry also enjoyed restoring antique John Deere tractors and his 1928 Model A, which he proudly drove in his granddaughter's wedding to transport the bride and groom to their reception. Most importantly, Jerry treasured time spent with his family especially his granddaughters.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Roger Coleman officiating.
A time of visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
The family kindly requests that all attending the visitation and service, please wear something John Deere or John Deere green, in memory of Jerry.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the donor's choice.
