Geraldine M. Brodowski

On June 24, 2025, Geraldine (Gerry) Marie Brodowski, formerly of Bordentown and Columbus, New Jersey, peacefully passed away in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. She was 97 years old.
She was born on September 15, 1927, in Trenton, New Jersey, to Leon C. and Johanna Wooley. She had two sisters, Winifred and Betty, both predeceased. She attended Hamilton High School.
She married Carl S. Brodowski, predeceased, on July 12, 1947. She was the devoted mother of five children: Christine, Lawrence (Annette), Leon (Kathleen), Michael (Rosemarie), and Brian, as well as eleven grandchildren (Pamela, Erika, Aleksandra, Daniel, Rebecca, Lee, John, Jenna, Laura, Lindsey, and Matthew), eleven great-grandchildren (Colby, Logan, Jordyn, Blake, Thomas, Jacob, Bodhi, Maia, Luca,Winslow and Tucker), and two great-great-grandchildren (Beckham and Rya).
She lived in the time of milkmen, bread delivery, and wanderers to stop at their house any dinner time; she always welcomed those less fortunate and made a plate for them ("they could have been Jesus").
Over the years, Gerry was active in both the community and St. Mary's Church, Borden-town, New Jersey. These included serving as President of St. Mary's PTA as well as a member of the Altar Rosary Society. Later in life, she became a member of St. Edmond Church, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
Probably her favorite job was when she worked at Divine Word Seminary in Bordentown in the mid 1960s. She enjoyed working with the priests and brothers. Her children took full advantage of the grounds and Athletic fields as well as exploring the tunnels, the swimming pool, and climbing the "Rocks."
She thereafter worked from 1971-1986 at the Bank of Mid-Jersey, wearing many hats as an Administrative Assistant.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gerry's name can be made to St. Edmond Church, PO Box 646, Rehoboth Beach, De., 19971-0646.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11a.m. on Tuesday July 1, 2025, at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church located at 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown, NJ. Calling hours will be held at the Bordentown Home for Funerals, 40 Crosswicks St. Bordentown, NJ on Tuesday morning 9:00 ~ 10:15 am. Burial will follow at in the parish cemetery St. Mary Cemetery, Bordentown.
