O'Donnell Cremations, Funerals, Celebrations - DanversTOPSFIELD - Geraldine W. Coleman, 82, of Topsfield, MA formerly of Pikeville, Kentucky, passed peacefully at home on March 18, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Troy Coleman.
Born in Pikeville, Kentucky, Geri was the daughter of the late Achilles and Willa (Justice) Williams. She was raised and educated in Pikeville, graduating from Pikeville High School. She worked as a medical transcriptionist at Pikeville Methodist Hospital for over 30 years, a role that reflected her quiet precision and dedication.
Geri and Troy were united in marriage on April 16, 1965, beginning a partnership that defined her life. Although Geri was a quiet woman, she was a force of nature. Above all else, Geri devoted herself to her family — they were the center of her world and the source of her greatest joy. She loved and adored her grandchildren beyond measure and poured her heart into the quilts she sewed for those she loved, beautiful creations that will continue to be cherished. Geri had a generous and welcoming spirit; she would open her door and greet you with a smile and a warm meal no matter the time of day. In later years she moved to Johnson City, Tennessee, where she was a devoted member of Mountain View Baptist Church for over twenty years. For the past five years, she resided with her daughter in Topsfield, MA.
In addition to her husband Troy, Geri was predeceased by her parents, and her siblings, Scottie Justice, Peco Williams, Roger Williams, and Virginia Buskirk. She is survived by her daughter, Vicky Long and her husband Henry of Topsfield, her son, Michael Coleman and his wife Melanie of Roanoke, Virginia; her sister, Marsha Anderson; her grandchildren, Amber Coleman, Adam Coleman, Matthew Long, Benjamin Long; step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
May she rest in eternal peace.
