Geraldine M Facchine

Geraldine Mildred Foster 93, of Maywood passed peacefully surrounded by her family on August 25, 2023. More than anything else "Gerry" was blissfully devoted to her late husband Joseph J. Facchine, whom she met on St. Patrick's Day in 1951. It was her Irish eyes and affectionate smile that brought them to sixty-six years of marriage with three children (Joseph Facchine, Thomas Facchine, Geraldine Facchine-Tworsky), daughter in law Lydia, two grandchildren (Dylan, Matthew), son in law John Tworsky and a quaint home of sixty years in Maywood, New Jersey. Gerry hailed from Manhattan where she spent her glory days as a singer and model. She could often be found at some of the city's most prestigious night clubs singing the ballads of Judy Garland. When she was offered a recording contract with Decca Records, she had already met the love of her life Joe so instead of performing she settled into the suburbs and committed her life to him and her family. She was a loving mother who used her extremely sharp mind and endless wit to guide her family to success. From runway model to stage performer to PTA President, Gerry managed the spotlight and her life with poise, grace, and positivity.
Gerry's loving heart and positive soul will be dearly missed by her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. She is now off to meet her beloved husband Joe "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."
The Family will receive friends on Monday, August 28, from 11:00am to 11:45am at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus, NJ. Funeral service will begin at 11:45am. Interment immediately following at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
