Geraldine Fitzgerald

Bloomfield – Geraldine Fitzgerald, age 91, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. She is survived by two sons, Robin (Patricia) Fitzgerald and Kevin Fitzgerald; 10 grandchildren, Danna, Michael, Ashley, Dannie, Holly, Christopher, Krystal, Derek (Jenna), Devon (Matt) and Sean; 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Gerald R. Fitzgerald in 2020; two sons, Dannie Fitzgerald in 2008 and Jackie Fitzgerald in 2015.

Geri was born in Kennett, Missouri and was the daughter of Arthur and Gracie (Crum) Petty. She and her family moved to Detroit when she was a child. After graduating from high school, she worked as a telephone operator in Detroit. Geri and Gerald moved to Bloomfield in 1976, where she was a homemaker raising her four sons, until they were all grown. She then went to work at Sears at Eastview Mall for 10 years as a cashier in the shoe department. Geri was a member of Lifespring Community Church, Canandaigua.

Geri enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and the United States, doing ceramics on her own kiln, cooking for family and friends and was known for her baked beans and chili. She was a huge Elvis Presley fan. Geri loved taking her granddaughters out shopping. She was always very stylish and fashionable with her clothes, shoes and jewelry. Geri cherished holidays with her family, especially Christmas Eve. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Services are private. Interment will be in East Bloomfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 200 Meridian Centre Blvd., Suite 110, Rochester, NY 14613.
