Geraldine "Gerri" Jayne, 82, of Westport, passed away at 5:45 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at her residence. She was born on July 26, 1942, in Whitesburg, Kentucky, the daughter of Etter Presley. She was born and raised in Whitesburg, Kentucky and has lived in Bartholomew and Jennings Counties since 1963. She graduated in 1959 from Kingdom Come High School. Geraldine had worked for Como Plastics, Cummins, Union Camp and NAC. She was a member of the Muzzle Loader Association. She enjoyed word puzzles, quilt making, fishing and jigsaw puzzles. She married Gilbert O. Jayne on September 21, 1981, in Westport. Survivors include her husband, Gilbert O. Jayne of Westport; her daughter, Donita Lorine "Frosty" Polly of Flagstaff, AZ; her sons, Bobby Eugene (Audrey Lee) Polly and Michael Lynn (Missy) Polly both of Columbus and Matthew Daniel Jayne of Westport; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her 1st husband, Bobby Cadwod Polly; daughter, Sherry Devon Polly; 3 sisters; 3 brothers and her grandson, Travis Day. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Pastor Gary Cave will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Bear Creek Cemetery south of Alert. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through the funeral home.
