Geraldine "Geri" Gertrude Murray of Hood River, Oregon passed away on March 1st 2026 at Providence St. Vincent's Hospital in Portland, Oregon. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 4, 1953 to Leo William Geisler and Elvie Catherine Howell. She had three older half-siblings Thomas Cagle, Jeanette Cagle and Bill Cagle.

She lived in Parkdale, Oregon during her school years and went to business school in Portland, Oregon then moved to Tucson, Arizona.

On March 13, 1973 she was married to Kenneth Ray Murray and on February 28, 1977 they welcomed their daughter Kathryn Murray to their family. She lived in Tucson, Arizona from 1973-1978. During her time in Arizona she worked in the records office of the Tucson Police Department. She moved many times, but eventually made her way back to Hood River where she had her son William Murray and worked for the Hood River County School District as the personnel secretary for 30 years. She retired on June 1, 2008 but continued to work for Community Education as well as a realtor for Gorge Winds Properties.

On October 10th, 2008 she was married to Franklin Dee Hightower and they remained together until his passing on April 5, 2018.

She enjoyed scrapbooking and working on family history with her church. She also enjoyed setting up a shred day that supported the Hood River County Special Olympics until she retired from the real estate business. Over the years she had many beloved pets, whom she loved and cared for very much.

She is survived by her daughter Kathryn and son William as well as her daughter-in-law Jaime and two grandchildren, Jackson and Grace Murray.

The funeral will be on Saturday, March 7th at 11:00 AM

Location will be The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1825 May Street in Hood River, Oregon.
