Geraldine Margaret Parks, fondly remembered as a beacon of warmth and kindness, passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on November 22, 2025, in Forest Hill, Maryland. Born on September 25, 1938, Geraldine's life was a testament to the power of gentle love and unwavering care.
As the beloved wife of the late Earl John Parks Jr., Geraldine's marriage was a cherished journey of 63 years filled with shared dreams and mutual support. She was a devoted mother to Jeffrey Parks and his wife Bonnie, Gregory Parks and his wife Elaine, and she embraced her role as a cherished grandmother with open arms and a heart full of pride. Her grandchildren, Brian Parks, Lauren Long and her husband Matthew, Kara Parks, Adam Parks, and Meredith Parks, will forever hold dear the memories of her unending love and the gentle wisdom she imparted. Geraldine's joy multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Jacob and Tyler Long, who brought a new sparkle to her eyes. She was preceded in death by her brother Ernest Brukiewa.
Geraldine's life was marked by her commitment to her family and her community. She was a well-known figure at Harford County Public Schools where she served as the Lunch Lady, a role she performed with dedication and a smile that could light up the room. Her nurturing nature extended beyond her own family, as she made it her mission to ensure that every child who came through the cafeteria felt seen, heard, and cared for.
Her zest for life was evident in her personal interests. Geraldine was an avid Bingo player, finding joy in the camaraderie and excitement of the game. She had a passion for travel and relished the adventures that came with cruising to new destinations. A true Marylander at heart, Geraldine had an unparalleled love for Maryland crabs, a treat she enjoyed in the company of friends and family during festive gatherings.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Geraldine's life at Evans Life Celebration Home -3 Newport Drive (Rts 23 and 24) Forest Hill on Tuesday, November 25 from 3-5 and 7-9 PM with a Funeral Liturgy 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 26 at St. Marks Catholic Church-Fallston.
