Mrs. Geraldine Roper

Mrs. Geraldine Roper, 87, of Gainesville passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.



Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Bethany Baptist Church. Rev. Lamar Purcell will officiate. Interment will follow in New Holland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home.



Born on November 4, 1934 in Gainesville, she was the daughter of the late Manley Waldrep and the late Clara Mae Gilmer Waldrep. She was retired from Chicopee where she worked as a spinner. Mrs. Roper was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.



In addition to her parents, Mrs. Roper was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Roper; son, James David Roper; daughter, Debbie Gibbs; brothers, James Waldrep and Eddie Waldrep.



Mrs. Roper is survived by her daughter, Beverly Ivester of Cleveland; daughter and son in law, Tiffany and David Moon of Cleveland; son, Tommy Roper of Commerce; sisters, Sandra Roberts of Gainesville, Donna Noel of Cleveland; 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and a number of other loving relatives.
