Geraldine (Geri) R. Turner, age 89, of North Canton, OH went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

She was a member of Louisville Baptist Temple where she taught a women's Bible class for 21 years. She also served lunch to students at Lake Center Christian School for four years. Geri also served as a precinct election official for 10 years. She enjoyed crocheting, reading books, and being with her family and grandchildren who fondly called her Gaga. She was not to be outdone and to quote her "If you can do it, I can do it".

Geri was the oldest of four children. She was born on November 18, 1935, to the late Alfred and Genevieve Burmeister in Pontiac, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Jack C. Turner (pastor) who went to Heaven February 13, 1997. Over those years together, they founded two churches – Northside Baptist Church (Pontiac, MI), and Meriden Hills Baptist Church (Meriden, CT). She was also preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Boothby in 2024.

Geri is survived by her daughters: Cathryne DeVita and Jacqueline Gilin (Gerald); her son, John Turner (Jill Torre), and Cheryl Turner; two sisters, Cynthia Cummings, and Dawn Nixon; 9 grandchildren, 13 great- grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 11am at Louisville Baptist Temple, 6565 Columbus Road NE in Louisville, OH. Calling hours will be 1 hour prior to services on Saturday beginning at 10am at the church.
