WOODLAND - Geraldine "Dean" Farrow Wernock, born on April 10, 1946, in Conway, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, in Greenville, North Carolina, at the age of 79. Dean lived a life filled with love, devotion, and warmth, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Dean's early years were spent as a devoted homemaker, where she found joy in creating a warm and welcoming home. Her passion for keeping house was evident in every corner. Her love for Hatteras Island and its sun-kissed beaches was a testament to her appreciation for nature's beauty. Later in life, Dean embraced a new adventure with the National Park Service at Cape Hatteras, where she worked tirelessly to maintain the parks and campgrounds.

Dean was a member of Clarks Bethel Methodist Church in Salvo, NC, and her faith was a cornerstone of her life. Prior to moving to Hatteras, she attended Faison's Assembly of God Church, where she formed lasting friendships and connections.

Dean's life was enriched by her many passions. She found joy in solving puzzles, tending to her beloved roses, and keeping a beautifully maintained home. Her greatest companion was her Shih Tzu, "Meme," who was not just a pet but the daughter she never had. Their bond was profound, and they are now reunited in peace.

Dean was preceded in death by her parents, Stella Louise Martin Farrow and Richard Gilbert Farrow; her son, Jerry Coffield; her sisters, Sandra Brown and Barbara Byrd and her husband Charles; and her faithful canine "daughter," Meme.

She is survived by her sons, Dale Coffield and James Vaughan; her grandchildren, Heath Coffield, Josh Coffield, Katie Bowman, Alexis Vaughan, and Logan Vaughan; and her great-grandchildren, Eli Burke and Brooklyn Bowman. Also left to cherish her memory are her sister Linda Busch and her husband Clarence, her brother Richard Farrow and his wife Judy, and her brother-in-law Robert Brown.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at The Farrow Family Cemetery, 299 Farrow Lane, Conway, North Carolina 27820.
