Geraldine Bennett Whitlow, 89, of Ringgold went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. She was born on March 21, 1935 in Graysville, Georgia to the late Berry and Mamie Lou Bennett. Mrs. Whitlow had been a life-long resident of Catoosa County and a life-long member of the Graysville United Methodist Church. She retired from Catoosa County School System after more than 30 yeas of service. Geraldine loved her family and enjoyed gardening, cooking and taking care of animals.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles "Sonny" Whitlow and brother, Billy Bennett.
Survivors include her son, Cotton (Robin) Whitlow, of Rock Spring; daughter, Cheryl Simmons, of Reidsville, GA; grandchildren, Aaron Brown, of Ringgold, Joe Simmons, of Savannah, Laura Kain of VA, Amber Hann of Manchester, TN and Butch Craze of Rock Spring; along with five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Elder officiating. Interment will follow in the Graysville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Graysville Cemetery Fund.
The family will receive friends 4-8 PM Friday at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
