Gerard Muller, 20 of Parker, died Saturday, December 9, 2023 from injuries in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be at 10:30am Friday, December 15, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Tea with burial in Rosehill Cemetery, Parker. Visitation will be from 5-7pm Thursday evening at Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred in Gerard's name.
Gerard Duane Muller eagerly entered this world on June 18, 2003 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. He was born to Paul and Dawn (Berens) Muller. In late 2006, Gerard became a big brother to Orson. Growing up, he took his role seriously showing his little brother the ropes, and he was someone Orson always looked up to. From the very beginning, Gerard brought immense joy to others with his charismatic yet mischievous smile, infectious laugh, and genuine love for everyone.
Gerard grew up in Parker, SD where he attended Parker High School. He graduated as a member of the class of 2022. While in high school, Gerard enjoyed participating in FFA, basketball, and trap shooting. Above all, he loved to spend his time with his friends. Whether he was riding a four-wheeler, throwing darts, burning rubber, hunting, or just hanging out, Gerard was the life of the party. He gained himself several nicknames throughout his short life here on earth, whether you knew him by Hot Rod, Geno, Jeans, G Money, or just G; he was a genuine friend to all.
After high school, Gerard had big plans for his future. He worked for DMI in Sioux Falls for one year before beginning his first year at the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND under a workforce apprenticeship program with DMI for Komatsu Diesel Technology.
Following college graduation, Gerard planned to return to work for DMI as a diesel mechanic.
The family has been longtime members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Tea, SD where he was involved in youth activities. Gerard was baptized on October 26, 2003 and confirmed on October 28, 2018 through the church where he accepted Jesus as his savior.
He departed this world far too soon and unexpectedly, forever leaving behind a void in the hearts of his family and friends who will always love and cherish the time and memories they shared with him.
Grateful for having shared his life are his parents, Paul and Dawn Muller of Parker; his brother Orson Muller, Parker; his grandparents, Roger and Chereen Muller, and Margaret Rand, all of Parker; his aunts and uncles, Pam (Bill) Johns, Mike (Cora) Lund, Tim (Ann) Lund all of Parker; Chuck (Shelly) Muller, Sioux Falls; Jane (Harvey) Hertel, Parker, and several cousins, Taya (Kurt) Runge, Tiffeny (Dana) Keller, Tessa Hertel (Ryan), Tyler (Melissa) Lund, Haley (Lincoln) Langerock, Zach Lund (Destiny), Kyle (Brieanna) Berens, Megan (Matt) Feist, Samara Erickson,
Conrad Johns, and Ethan Johns. He will be greatly missed by all the littles that he enjoyed picking up, teasing, and loving on: Valerie, Tevin, Merritt, Joanie (Gerard's Godchild), Kennedi, Oaklee, and Avery. He will be dearly missed by his buddies, Copper and Bailey. Gerard will also be remembered by his countless friends and others who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Merle Berens and Larry Rand, and an uncle Terry Berens.

December 13, 2023

The day before I left for basic training Geno came to my going away party in Whitelake. He was one of the few who I wanted to spend my last day with and I´m so grateful for the 6 years I got to know and love him. This is us dancing that night. My deepest condolences to all who are grieving the loss of one of the sweetest souls i´ve ever known. May God cherish him as much as we all did.
