Gerard Tacey Obituary

Gerard Tacey
Gerard Matthew Tacey, 69, of Midland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center. Gerard was born November 2, 1956, to Wesley and Geraldine (Linsenman) Tacey. He was a lifelong resident of Midland and a graduate of H.H. Dow High and Northwood University.
Gerard was known for his humor and pride in his work, having spent many years at Midland Manor and The Refinishing Shop. His greatest joys came from sharing his passions with others. He spent many years coaching wrestling with the Midland Area Youth Wrestling Club and Jefferson Intermediate, encouraging young athletes on the mat.
Gerard found happiness in life's simple, shared moments, especially the time he spent with his grandkids. He loved teaching his children and grandchildren to fish, finding deep satisfaction in those quiet moments by the water, passing along the patience and wonder that fishing brought to him. He cherished time outdoors and with family, especially during trips to Lake City and Cedarville.
He is survived by his children, Joshua (Meaghan) Tacey and Sarah (Trevor) Reisinger; eight grandchildren, Brooklyn, Rylee, Korbin, James, Maria, Abrina, Kamdyn, and Maya; great-grandson Roman; and siblings David (Kathy), Roger (Tina), Phil (Diane), Joe, and Mary (Eric) Moore; as well as many nieces and nephews, especially Carl Nicol, with whom he shared a special bond. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Margaret "Peg" (Krafft) Tacey, and his brother Paul.
Cremation has taken place in keeping with Gerard's wishes, and no formal services will be held at this time. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the H.H. Dow High School Sports Booster Club.
