Gerardo “Jerry” Joel Gonzalez, 46, of Uvalde passed away on January 29, 2024, at Methodist Texsan Hospital in San Antonio.
He was born on May 31, 1977, in Carrizo Springs, Texas to Sylvia (Cantu) and Juan Roberto Gonzalez.
He is survived by his parents of Uvalde; two daughters, Zoey Faith Gonzalez of San Angelo and Bernice Mendoza of Minnesota; companion, Maria Trevino of Uvalde; sister, Angelica Nicole Gonzalez of San Antonio; brother, Juan Roberto “Tito” Gonzalez, Jr. and wife, Yvonne of San Antonio; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He is preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Manuela Cantu, paternal grandparents, Robert Gonzalez and Luisa Gonzalez.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 2 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment of ashes will be held at a later date.
Pallbearers will be Brian Platts, Robert Gonzalez, Frank Luna, Jr., Robert Galindo, Carlos Gonzalez, Roy Gonzalez, Raul Cantu, Jr., and Isidro Cantu, Jr.
