Daniel S. Ortiz entered into eternal rest on February 24, 2026. Born on August 31, 1939, in Uvalde, Texas, he was the beloved son of Albino and Clarita Ortiz. Daniel graduated from Fox Tech High School and continued his education at Corpus Christi University through his sophomore year. He went on to build a long and dedicated career with the United States Department of Agriculture, where he proudly served his community and retired as a Meat Inspector.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Josie G. Ortiz; his children, Daniel G. Ortiz, Yvette "DeeDee" Villarreal, and Javier G. Ortiz; and his grandchildren, Alexa Rae Hernandez, Daniel L. Ortiz (wife Vanessa), Joshua L. Ortiz, Kearsten O. Sandoval (husband Mark Antony), Gavin Ray Villarreal and Adison Ortiz. He also leaves behind his great grandchildren, Danilelle Garcia, Isaiah Ortiz, and Marco and Maeve Sandoval.
A visitation and service will be held: on March 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 pm

Daniel's legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the many lives he touched through his kindness, dedication, and service.
