He was the beloved husband of Carmen Ortiz; loving father of Ruben (Zoila) Ortiz, Ericka (Alejandro) Rodriguez, and Claudia (Chris Gerler) Ortiz; and cherished grandfather of Abygayle Grace, Thalia Victoria, and Emily Marie Ortiz, and Alexa and Alejandra Rodriguez, who brought immense pride and happiness to his life.

Hector will be remembered for his strength, gentle guidance, and the quiet kindness he showed to everyone around him. He was a devoted family man whose love was steady, generous, and unwavering.

He also held a special place in his heart for the family's beloved dogs: Flaco (†), Canelo, Ernie (†), Perry (†), Pablo, Little Man, Taco, Copito, Max, and Coco, who were part of the joy and warmth of his home.

Hector was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, and all who were blessed to know him.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Pedersen Ryberg Funeral Home, 435 North York Street, Elmhurst.
