Gerardo Herrera Gonzalez, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away surrounded by loved ones on November 28, 2025, at the age of 63, in Dallas, TX.

Born on October 3, 1962, in Veracruz, Mexico, the second of four children, Gerardo exemplified the spirit of dedication and love throughout his life. Gerardo was a passionate family man, married to his cherished college sweetheart, Maribel Valenzuela de Herrera, for an extraordinary 44 years.

Together, they nurtured a loving home for their daughters, Juliana and Cinthia. Juliana and her husband, Ignacio Quezada, Cinthia and her husband, Pedro Avila and his 11 grandchildren-Daniel, Matthew, Leilani, Abriella, Nicholas, Brisei, Karizma, Marliese, Shawn, Jiselle and Pedro Jr., were always a source of pride and joy for Gerardo.

He took immense delight in watching his family grow, and he was deeply committed to creating lasting memories with them. He was also looking forward to becoming a great-grandfather.With a remarkable intellect, Gerardo pursued his education tirelessly, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Industrial Engineering in Mexico. His professional achievements reflected his relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation, yet it was in his roles as a husband and father where he found his true fulfillment.

Gerardo's kindness, humor, and unselfishness touched everyone he met, inspiring those around him to strive for greatness in all aspects of life.Gerardo is also survived by his brother, Wenceslao Gonzalez, and sister, Maria del Carmen Gonzalez, along with sister-in-law Angela Gonzalez.

His family meant everything to him, and he leaves behind a legacy of love that will shine brightly through them.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home, 500 E. Main Street, Grand Prairie, Texas 75050 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a rosary at 5:30 pm.

A funeral service to honor Gerardo's remarkable life will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 10:00 am at the funeral home, where family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate his impact and share cherished memories. The ceremony will reflect the warmth and spirit he brought into their lives, culminating in a heartfelt tribute to a man who embodied love and devotion.In celebrating his life, we remember Gerardo Herrera not only for his accomplishments but more importantly for the profound love he shared with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

Gerardo was preceded in death by parents, Constantino Herrera, Bernardina Gonzalez and a brother, Taurino Gonzalez.

Gerardo Herrera González, un amado esposo, padre, abuelo, hermano y amigo, falleció rodeado de sus seres queridos el 28 de noviembre de 2025, a la edad de 63 años, en Dallas, Texas.

Nacido el 3 de octubre de 1962 en Veracruz, México, el segundo de cuatro hermanos, Gerardo ejemplificó el espíritu de dedicación y amor a lo largo de su vida.

Gerardo era un hombre de familia apasionado, casado con su querida novia de la universidad, Maribel Valenzuela de Herrera, durante 44 años. Juntos, crearon un hogar lleno de amor para sus hijas, Juliana y Cinthia. Juliana y su esposo, Ignacio Quezada, Cinthia y su esposo, Pedro Ávila, y sus 11 nietos -Daniel, Matthew, Leilani, Abriella, Nicholas, Brisei, Karizma, Marliese, Shawn, Jiselle y Pedro Jr.- siempre fueron motivo de orgullo y alegría para Gerardo. Disfrutaba enormemente viendo crecer a su familia y estaba profundamente comprometido a crear recuerdos imborrables con ellos. También esperaba con ilusión convertirse en bisabuelo.

Con una inteligencia notable, Gerardo se dedicó incansablemente a su educación, obteniendo una Licenciatura en Ingeniería Química Industrial en México. Sus logros profesionales reflejaron su incansable búsqueda de la excelencia y la innovación, pero fue en sus roles de esposo y padre donde encontró su verdadera realización. La bondad, el humor y el altruismo de Gerardo conmovieron a todos los que lo conocieron, inspirando a quienes lo rodeaban a esforzarse por alcanzar la grandeza en todos los aspectos de la vida.

A Gerardo le sobreviven su hermano, Wenceslao González, y su hermana, María del Carmen González, junto con su cuñada, Angela González. Su familia lo era todo para él, y deja un legado de amor que brillará intensamente a través de ellos.

Familiares y amigos están invitados a celebrar la vida de Gerardo en un velorio que se llevará a cabo el jueves 4 de diciembre de 2025, de 5:00 a 8:00 pm en la funeraria Guerrero-Dean en Grand Prairie, Texas con un rosario a las 5:30 pm.

Se llevará a cabo un servicio funerario para honrar la extraordinaria vida de Gerardo el viernes 5 de diciembre de 2025, a las 10:00 AM donde familiares y amigos están invitados a reunirse para celebrar su impacto y compartir recuerdos entrañables. La ceremonia reflejará la calidez y el espíritu que aportó a sus vidas, culminando en un sentido homenaje a un hombre que encarnó el amor y la devoción. Seguido por el entierro en Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens.

Al celebrar su vida, recordamos a Gerardo Herrera no solo por sus logros, sino, sobre todo, por el profundo amor que compartió con su familia y amigos.

Se le extrañará profundamente y será recordado para siempre.

A Gerardo le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Constantino Herrera y Bernardina Gonzalez, y su hermano, Taurino Gonzalez.
