Geri B. Joyner, 70, entered into rest Friday, December 12, 2025. She was born in Macon and has been a longtime resident of Burke County. She worked as a buyer for GE, as a substitute teacher in the Burke County school system and retired to become a full-time Nanny. Geri was preceded in death by her father, John D. Brookins; her mother, Willie Frances Russell; and her husband, James Joyner.
She is survived by two children, Kevin Joyner (Jordan) of Girard and Courtney Scott (Bobby) of Keysville; three grandchildren, Brigham Scott, Bella Scott, and James Luke Joyner; two sisters, Lisa McClain and Darlene Brooks; and her lifelong friend, Cassie Broxton.
The family will receive friends from 4:00pm to 6:00pm Thursday, December 18 at the funeral home and a memorial service will follow at 6:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Steve Sirmons officiating.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Wellstar ICU for the wonderful care they provided.
Remembrances may be made to the Burke County Animal Shelter.
