She was the family matriarch and historian, knowing family from seven
generations, always being able to identify family members in pictures. She was the belle
of the ball at every family reunion regaling us of stories from her youth and ours. She was
a beloved, beautiful, stylish and vivacious woman all her life, never looking her age. She
had many different careers in her life from restaurant owner to her last as a nanny. She
was a woman of her times, one of the last members of the " Greatest Generation" and the
last one left from her family generation As a daughter, mother, grandmother, aunt and
friend, she was always there for us, with a hug and a kiss, never forgetting the names of
our children. She was full of friendly advice and concern, reminding us to eat asparagus
daily for a long healthy life, asparagus, will cure anything!
Our family would like to give a special thanks to her friends in her later life, her
late brother-in-law, William Thompson, niece and nephew Burleigh and Debbie Wall,
who cared for her daily, nieces Michelle O'Donnell and Jessica McCallister, her wide
circle of friends at Lake Ridge Acres, especially Mike and Bonita, the Activities Staff and
all her nurses and aides, who allowed her to feed the squirrels, geese and birds daily. She
really appreciated all of you.
