Gertrude E. Klocek

1927 - 2026

Gertrude E. Klocek, 99, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Easy Living Country Estates with her family by her side. She was born on March 27, 1927, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Markovich Larko. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Gertrude was a graduate of the former Ramsay High School, Mt. Pleasant, with the class of 1945. She was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. She loved going to the casinos, theaters in Pittsburgh, and football games. Gertrude worked with her husband at their business, The Klocek Burial Vault Co., in Mount Pleasant. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Stephen A. Klocek, in the year 2000. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John Larko and his wife Marie and Florian "Gus" Larko and his wife Vera of Indiana, and a sister, Irene Wawrzyniak of Mount Pleasant. She is survived by her son, Thomas "Skip" Klocek (Marian), of Mount Pleasant; two grandsons, Brian Klocek (Mary) of Greensburg and Brad Klocek (Alyson) of Mount Pleasant; four great-grandsons, Jordan, Grant, Gavin, and Chase; and a sister-in-law. Carol Klocek of Mount Pleasant and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m., Sunday, March 29, 2026, at BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 E. Washington St., Mt. Pleasant, where a blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Monday, March 30, 2026, followed by a funeral mass at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X R.C. Church with Rev. Tomas Avila as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
