Gertrude Gail Oneyear

HENDERSON- Gertrude Gail Elliott Oneyear, 81, of Moody Road, died Friday, September 12, 2025 at her home. Born September 8, 1944 in Calvert Co., Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Gertrude Wood Elliott and Richard Orem Elliott and was the widow of James Oneyear. She was a homemaker. A lady of strong Christian faith, Gertrude attended Solomon's Methodist Church in Maryland before her move to North Carolina and attended Flat Rock United Methodist Church in recent years. She loved her family dearly and cherished time spent with them.

Graveside services will be held at a later date in Maryland.

Gertrude is survived by her son, Matthew B. Oneyear of the home; her daughter-in-law, Tina Oneyear of Idaho; her grandson, Travis Oneyear (Lindsey) of Maryland; and her devoted caregiver, Amy N. Bowden.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Oneyear; a sister, Pauline Burbank; and a daughter-in-law, Karen Oneyear.
