Jerry W. Oneyear

Mr. Jerry William Oneyear, age 82, of Casper, WY, passed away February 17, 2026. He was born August 25th, 1943 in Salem, Oregon to parents Leo William Oneyear and Florence May (Nelson) Oneyear.

‍Jerry was preceded in death by his Parents, Half Brother Leo Benjamin Oneyear, Cousin Rodney Pilch, and Son, Douglas Burton Oneyear.‍‍

Jerry graduated from North Salem High School in 1961 and enlisted into the US Navy shortly after. Upon completing Boot Camp at Camp Nimitz in San Diego, Jerry attended Service School Command for Fire Control Technician Class A and Class C. After completing school, he was assigned to the USS Brush (DD 745) in October of 1962.

The USS Brush began its Far East Cruise in March of 1964 and Jerry would travel to Pearl Harbor, HI, Taiwan, The Phillipines, Japan, and the South China Sea. He separated from the Navy in August of 1965 and was awarded the Navy Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Bronze Star.

Jerry loved his New York Yankees and enjoyed watching all forms of Baseball and Softball. He also liked old Westerns, The Walking Dead, and Cooking Shows. He would drink diet Root Beer and eat a Honey Bun in front of his 3 TV screens - his “sports bar” - while scrolling the internet to watch train and heavy machinery and videos.

He was married to Betty (Holloway) Oneyear 12/19/1962 thru 7/23/1974. She died 10/17/2017 in Salem, OR. He was also married to Linda (Williams) Oneyear.

Jerry is survived by his Half Sister Genelle Windsor of Surrey, England, UK; Cousins, Jim Pilch (Jill) of Lawrence, KS, Mary Pilch of Gentry, AR, Adele (Pilch) Hougland of Lawrence, KS, Jane (Pilch) Perdue of Topeka, KS; and Half-Cousin Allen Harte (Lisa) of Rogers, AK.

He has one daughter, three sons, and two daughters-in-law. Kari (Oneyear) Kent of Kingman, AZ, Karl Oneyear (Lori) of Port St. Lucie, FL, Jeffrey Oneyear (Kristine) of Stansbury Park, UT, and Christopher Oneyear of Denver, CO.

Jerry has 11 grandchildren. David Kent of Kingman, AZ, Scott Oneyear (Tiffany) of Fort Pierce, FL, Jessica Kent (Brittany) of Salt Lake City, UT, Brad Oneyear (Tonya) of Port St. Lucie, FL, Paul Oneyear of Port St. Lucie, FL, Emily Nye of Bristol, VA, Micheala Kohler of Casper, WY, Kaedynce Oneyear of Florence, KY, Trenity Oneyear of Florence, KY, Riley Oneyear of Stansbury Park, UT, and Wyatt Oneyear of Stansbury Park, UT.

He has 3 great-grandchildren. Sadie Nye of Bristol, VA, Arya Nye of Bristol, VA, and Caroline Oneyear of Fort Pierce, FL.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by Bustard & Jacoby in Casper, WY. No services are planned.
