               On Friday, May 3, 2024, Gertrude  “Gertie” R. Shelton of Glen Burnie, MD passed away peacefully. Beloved wife of the late Joseph L. Shelton; loving mother of Marie A. Shelton, Catherine L. Wright and her husband, Jim, David E. Shelton and his wife, Kelley and Teresa J. Lawrence and her husband, Jack; cherished grandmother of Michael, Krista, Mark, Brian, Christopher, Mikaela, Melissa and Stephanie; and devoted great-grandmother of Alex, Hannah, Jazmin, Kaitlyn, Alissa, Manuel, Brooks and Noelle. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and loving friends. Gertie was preceded in death by her parents, Clara and Balthasar Fuchs; and her siblings, John, Hilda, Raymond, Cecelia and Louis Fuchs.

         Family and friends are invited to gather at  Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, PA, 1 2nd Avenue, SW ,(at Crain Highway), Glen Burnie, MD 21061 on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday May 8, 2024 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 7436 Baltimore & Annapolis Boulevard, Glen Burnie, MD 21061 at 10:00 am. Her Committal Service and Interment will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD at 10:00 am. If desired, Memorial Contributions may be made in her name to the Hospice of the Chesapeake or Christ the King Catholic Church.
