Gertrude "Trudy" Mays Kyle, of Albany went home with Jesus on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Phoebe Putney Memorial hospital at the age of 101. Her home-going will be celebrated on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home with Dr. Rev. Susan Beverly and Rev. David Miller officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM at Andersonville National Cemetery.
Trudy was born on April 16, 1924, to her late parents Ambrose and Mary Catherine Miller. Trudy began her career as a clerk for the Naval Air System Command, where she diligently supported the mission of the Navy, contributing to the safety and operations of our Armed Forces. Beyond her professional achievements, Trudy was a devoted member of her community, actively participating in various organizations. She served as a volunteer for the American Red Cross Gray Ladies, aiding those in need, and was a proud member of the Golden Key Club. Furthermore, she volunteered for the Pink Ladies with Palmyra Medical Center, sharing her warmth and kindness with the patients she served.
Trudy found joy and solace in her faith, attending Albany Grace Church of the Nazarene. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Edward Kyle, and her son, Timothy Wayne Kyle.
Survivors include her daughters, Dawn Hardy (Michael) of Albany, GA, and Rebecca Bush (Roger) of Selina, OK, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 5th, from 10:00 AM until the home-going service begins at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home.
