He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved siblings: Alice, Toufic, Nadeem, David, Naim (Silva); Lamia; Nadia (Habib); and Nabil (Samira).
Ghassan is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Sandy, and their two children, Renee (Scott) and David (Yardley), as well as his three granddaughters who brought him immeasurable joy: Stella, Hazel, and Ruth.
Ghassan passed away peacefully at home on December 11, 2025, at 9:20 p.m., surrounded by the family he so dearly loved.
A loving husband and a proud father, Ghassan’s greatest happiness came from seeing his children thrive and spending time with his granddaughters. He cherished every moment with them, offering his wisdom, humor, and gentle presence. This Summer, in particular, he loved to sit in his backyard and watch his grandchildren play by Minerva Lake.
Ghassan carried a deep love for the Lord. During his last few months, his faith shone brightly – he never missed an opportunity to invite those he met to his son’s church, eager to share the hope and comfort he found in God.
A mechanical engineer by trade and by passion, Ghassan had an extraordinary gift for fixing anything placed in front of him. He delighted in reviving old machines, tinkering with intricate parts, and keeping
shelves of spare pieces “just in case.” His hands were rarely still, and his skill and creativity were matched only by his persistence.
Ghassan will be remembered for his kindness, his steadfast faith, his boundless love for his family, and his remarkable ability to bring life back into the things – and people – around him. His legacy lives on in
the hearts of all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Faith Covenant Church Youth Ministry. Link to give (put youth in the comment box) https://www.elexiogiving.com/App/Giving/fait3607119
