Giovanna (Gianna) Ferraro Bossone passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.
Gianna was born in Lauro di Nola, Avellino, Campania Region, Italy on July 2, 1927 to Vittorio and Domenica Ferraro. She was one of 5 children. She is predeceased by her parents, by her loving husband Joseph Bossone, her brothers Gennaro and Domenico Ferraro, her sister Maddelena (Lilli) Curcio. She is survived by her sister Maria Casalino (Italy) and her sister in law Maddelena Ferraro, her daughters Rose Bossone Graziano, Joyce Bossone Villano and her husband Vinnie, Victoria Bossone Leanza and husband Anthony and Rita Bossone Cianci and former husband Giuseppe Cianci, 8 grandchildren, Wayne Graziano, Lori Graziano, Dina Graziano, Dana Villano Aschettino and her husband Mark, David Jackey, Jr., Christina Leanza, Sebastian Cianci and Gianna Cianci, 4 great grandchildren Felicia, Isabella, Dillon and Maddie and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gianna's family always came first. She made so many sacrifices for her family and the people she loved. Gianna was a devout Catholic with tremendous faith in our Lord and her patron saint, Saint Rita. Gianna was known for her beautiful disposition. Gianna loved everyone she met. She always wanted everyone to be happy. She always greeted you with a smile and made you feel her warmth and love. Gianna loved to cook her amazing Italian dishes for her loved ones. She will truly be missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 18 from 10 – 11:30 am at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue in Long Branch followed by a 12pm Mass at Holy Trinity Church. Interment will be at Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105 http://www.stjude.org/.
