Gilbert Baga

Gilbert J. Baga, 92, of Forsyth and formerly of Pana, died Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be Friday, November 20, 2020 at 10:00AM at Kennedy & Sons Funeral Home in Pana with Father Rodney A. Schwartz officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM until the time of service at Kennedy & Sons. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pana Township, Illinois.
Gilbert Joseph Baga was born June 22, 1928 the son of John and Emma (maiden name Desatnick) Baga. He was raised in Pana attending Sacred Heart Catholic School and Pana High School. Gilbert was stationed in Japan while serving in the U.S. Army. He married Frances P. Guinnee in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Pana on June 11, 1955. Frances and Gilbert pursued a passion for the Kerry Blue Terrier dog breed in shows and competitions, and she died February 25, 1999 after an extended illness. Gilbert was employed for many years and retired from Borg-Warner in Decatur
Gil is survived by his Nephew: Roger Rapsavage fiancée Darlene Burkel of Warsaw, Indiana, many other nephews and nieces as well as great-nephews and great-nieces. He is preceded in death by his Parents; Brothers: John, Andy, Victor, and Michael Baga; and Sister: Eleanor Rapsavage.
