Gilbert Lopez Ballesteros

Gilbert Ballesteros age 86 passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 in Gilbert, Arizona. He was born June 7, 1938, in Miami, Arizona to Elijio and Angelita (Lopez) Ballesteros, he was one of fifteen children.
Gilbert worked in the mines for 32 years, starting at Inspiration Copper and retiring from Freeport- McMoRan.
He loved spending time with his family enjoying Beans and Bonfires, and spending time with his dogs. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and loved hiking, fishing and exercising.
Gilbert was preceeded in death by his parents Elijio and Angelita (Lopez) Ballesteros and his siblings: Chino, Frank, Carlos, Angie, Katie, Dora, Rudy, Louis, Virginia and Jean.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Josephine Ballesteros and his sons Marcus (Tiffany) Ballesteros and Vincent (Penny) Ballesteros, grandchildren: Alisha (Cody) Staten, Andrew Ballesteros, Santiago Lem, Anissa Ballesteros, Selena Ballesteros, Taylor Ballesteros, Macy Ballesteros and Riley Ballesteros, great-grandchild Anders Ballesteros and brother Lalo Ballesteros.
Services will be held Saturday July 6, 2024, at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Miami. Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. with a Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. Military Honors following the Mass. There will be a Luncheon at Bullion Plaza, that will take place in the Gym. immediately following the services.
