Gilbert Beardsley

Gilbert L. Beardsley, 79, of Lakewood, died Wednesday March 11, 2026, in UPMC Chautauqua.

He was born November 27, 1946, in Warren, PA, a son of the late Alfred and Katherine Britton Beardsley.

He was a 1965 graduate of Frewsburg Central School and later served in the United States Marine Corps until his honorable discharge in 1971.

Prior to his retirement he was employed by Hillerich and Bradsby, Ackley, PA commonly known as The Bat Factory.

He was a member of Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and Lakewood Memorial Post American Legion.

Gil enjoyed tinkering and could fix anything.

Surviving is his wife Marylee Pangborn Beardsley, whom he married September 10, 1993; two daughters Kristina (David) Folts of Augusta, GA, and Karyl (Jason) McDaniel of Lakewood; daughter in law Stacey Rasmussen of Cherry Creek; four grandchildren Joseph and Molly McDaniel and Richard and Emily Rasmussen; two great grandchildren; a brother Gary Beardsley and Gil's constant furry companion Biscuit.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son Kenneth Rasmussen and two brothers Jerry and Glen Beardsley.

The funeral will be held at 11 am Monday in the Lind Funeral Home, where friends will be received from 1-3 pm Sunday.

Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Chautauqua County Humane Society or Lakewood Volunteer Fire Department.
