Gilbert Larry Blackwell, 77, of Hamilton Township, NJ, sadly passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell Campus. He was born on March 14, 1948 in Trenton, NJ to William James Blackwell Sr. and Claudine Williams-Blackwell.

Larry led a remarkable life filled with many passions and accomplishments. He attended Mercer County Community College, the International Training Institute, and went to Smith & Solomon School of Tractor Trailer Driving. He was hard-working and dedicated as he spent over 14 years working at U.S. Steel in Fairless Hills, PA. Larry also held a CDL and worked as Truck Driver and Passenger Bus Operator until retirement.

Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family and his passions. His love for barbecuing, motorcycles, cars, fishing, and camping were special pastimes that he shared with his children and friends - leaving a mark on them that will never fade.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Carla Blackwell-Delgado; sons, George Blackwell and Justin Turner; grandchildren, Curley and Christopher Reid, Caprice Blackwell, Nelson and Noah Delgado, Ziare Bellamy, and Azhaneet Blackwell; three great-grandchildren, Domaine Jenkins and Meridian and Freya Delgado; sisters, Emma Murphy and Gail Blackwell; brother, William Blackwell Jr.; goddaughter, Melanie Staton; special friend, Jacquie Stacy; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Claudine Blackwell; brothers, Joe Blackwell, Leonard Blackwell, and Bruce Lucas; and sisters, Marjorie Blackwell-Kinslow, Geraldine McRae, and Marion Blackwell-Brooks.

Larry will be greatly missed by his family and friends, whom will forever cherish the memories of his remarkable life and hold fast to the impact he made on all those who knew him.
