Gilbert Marvin Blazon went home to the Lord on February 16th, 2025, at the age of 87 years old. Gilbert was born on February 28th, 1937, in Longmont Colorado to Lee and Frances (Cortez) Blazon. Gilbert attended and graduated Mead High School in 1956, then enlisted into the US Navy in June where he served 4 years as an engine mechanic on a destroyer. After serving in the Navy, he came back to Colorado, married and raised 4 children. He worked as a transmission specialist most his life, even owned and operated his own place, “Gil’s Transmission Shop.” He loved hunting, cooking and dancing to Mexican music, but most of all he loved his family and friends. He was a loving father figure to many and cared tenderly for his son Marvin, until his death in 2010. He is survived by his children, Rudy (Julia) Padilla, Eleanor (Joe) Siskar and Barbara (Dan) Hilfiker, his siblings, Leroy (Margaret) Blazon, Theresa (Joe) Yellowhorse, Henry (Esther) Blazon, Frank (Patti), Blazon, Gladys (Tony) Perez, and Jerome (Connie) Blazon, his 12 grandchildren,14 great grandchildren, 19 nieces, nephews and numerous great. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Frances Blazon, his son Gilbert Marvin Blazon Jr., his brother Joseph L Blazon and niece, Bonnie Blazon. He will always be remembered with a cigar in his mouth, something funny to say and one everyone could count on. He will be greatly missed by all. The family would like to give a special thanks and acknowledge his grandson Gilbert Duran and his great-grandson, Gilbert for taking care of him in his final days.
