Gilbert A. Brown Jr.

Gilbert Brown, 68 of Greenwood, passed away on January 12, 2025. He was born on August 7, 1956 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Esta Gannon Brown and Gilbert Brown. He married Rita (Clark) Brown on November 18, 1977. She lovingly survives. Also surviving are children, Jeffrey Dale Sapp and Jennifer Sapp-Wheeler; sisters, Freida Brown, Cindy Strafford and Linda Brown; grandchildren, Brian Sapp, Ariel Sapp, Eric Cravens, Marcus Hobbs, Brittany Wheeler and Erika Sapp and eight great-grandchildren, Malyk Madison, Braylee Deel, Amarah Madison, Mathias Madison, Cayde Hobbs, Eli Lawson, Payton Lawson and Kylie Hobbs; two nephews, Daryll and Daniel Brown and niece, Samantha Strafford-Jackson. He was preceded in passing by his parents; son, James Sapp and brothers, Ed Brown and Tim Brown. Gilbert was a graduate of Perry Meridian High School. He worked as a Plumber. Gilbert enjoyed woodworking, fishing, listening to music and his dogs. He loved spending time with his family. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin with a Celebration of Life Service to be on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
