Gilbert H. Gore, age 78, of Fremont, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at his home in Fremont. He was born on November 19, 1946 in New London, WI, the son of the late Gerald and Lorna ( Kieckhafer) Gore. Following high school Gilbert served his country in the US Army. He was currently a member of American Legion Post 55 in Hortonville
On September 11, 1971, Gilbert married Carol Loewenhagen Gore at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hortonville. Gilbert farmed his entire life and also worked for Kindt Lumber and the Larsen Co-Op. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London. He enjoyed bowling.
Gilbert is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol; two Sons, Greg Gore and Jamie (Jacci) Gore; three grandchildren, Brady Gore and Mason and Alyssa Gore; his sister, Carol (Richard) Kraft; three brothers-in-law, Ken Loewenhagen; Jerry (Liz) Loewenhagen and Dave (Judy) Loewenhagen; his sister-in-law, Joyce Schroeder; his niece, Jenifer (Brian) Pastor and their son, Stellan; cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Lorna. a brother, Gary and a brother-in-law, Jeff Schroeder. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 11:00 am at Lewin Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Fremont, followed by military rites by American Legion Post 55. Visitation will be held at Lewin Funeral Home on Thursday, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Inurnment will be in Dale Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for American Cancer Society and Emanuel Lutheran Church.
