Gilbert Justin Halcom, 57 of Corpus Christi, Texas, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday July 26th 2025. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on May 2nd, 1968 to his parents Carolyn Kay Schwarz and Allen Randolph Halcom.
Justin attended Calallen High School and earned his Bachelor's degree in psychology from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. He worked as a licensed chemical dependency counselor where he helped individuals overcome substance abuse disorders. Justin used his experiences from his own sobriety journey to help guide others towards a sober lifestyle.
Having grown up in a family full of musicians, Justin had a big passion for music, which he handed down to his son Dustin Halcom. He loved hearing Dustin play the guitar, drums, and many other instruments. He also had a passion for surfing and enjoyed riding the tides with buddies and soaking up the sun.
Justin was preceded by death by his mother Carolyn Johnson, his stepfather Donald Johnson, his brother, Brett Halcom, his grandmothers Mildred Menking and Edith Schwarz Shlagle, and his father Allen Randolph Halcom.
Left to cherish his memory includes his children, Ashley Kay Halcom and Dustin Cadence Halcom; his brothers, Joey Johnson and Lucky Halcom and his wife Carmen; his nieces Caira Johnson, Lana Johnson, Aurora Johnson, and Keiara Halcom; his nephews Cody Halcom and August Johnson; his aunt, Sherian DuPont and her children Casey and Jason Schwarz, and close friends Shana McCain, Tyron Heflin, Clint Foster, Jeff Brickley, Curtis Manning, and many others.
