HARRINGTON, Gilbert Thomas - Age 71, of Linden, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2025. Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at a later date. Those desiring may make contributions to Adopt-A-Pet, 13575 Fenton Road, Fenton, MI 48430.
Gilbert was born February 16, 1954 in Petoskey, MI, the son of Thomas Robert and Shirley (Shannon) Harrington. He was a 1972 graduate of Mt. Morris High School; and he attended Mott Community College. He married Kathleen Robin Kvasnica August 27, 1977 in Flint. He had resided in the Linden area since 1979 coming from Flint. Gilbert retired in 2022 from GM Engineering after 48 years of service. His passions were automobile racing, going to car shows, taking care of his yard and spending time with his car buddies and his corvettes.
Surviving are: his wife of 48 years, Kathleen; brother, Jeffery (Mary) Harrington of Flushing; sister, Lori (George) Stevenson of Fenton; brother-in-law, Jon (Carol Kraemer) Kvasnica of Heber, AZ; nephews, Christopher Harrington of Flushing and Jeffery (Karen) Harrington of Rankin; niece, Angela (Ryan) Kvasnica-Hendley of Burton; and life-long friend, George.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Shirley Harrington; sister, Leisa (Harrington) Kaczmarczyk; and father-in-law, Emil Kvasnica. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
